Icon Requests

Hello everyone. I have opened Photoshop to make more Biggles icons but am coming up against that greatest of obstacles: lack of ideas. I made two Mark Way icons and clearly that wiped out my creativity for the evening.

To that end, if there is a particular quote or Johnsian illustration (or indeed something for another fandom!) you would like in icon form, please let me know in the form of a comment (or a smoke signal, but visibility is quite poor at the moment... :D)

I am not a visual artist, but can you do anything with EvS’s ‘You have never given me an opportunity to demonstrate my private accomplishments’ - ie the place where I totally and forever lost my heart to this ship.

Hmmm. Could I talk you into a serious!Bertie Lissie icon? I started off thinking of his more focused mode, when he's the one flying people out of a dangerous situation or similar, but the more I consider, the more I'm aware that he absolutely does not have to be hyperfocused to be serious and kind. A fic of sholio's comes to mind, and... ah heck, I've just gone and reread the whole thing while looking for a quote. XD There are half a dozen lines that could work as icon fodder, but one of them is Lacey to Lissie, after the latter says it feels uncivilized to get warm and eat in front of a captured EvS: "It's an interrogation, Bertie. It's not supposed to be civilized!" Another is Bertie's musing on an unwillingness to let people suffer and die while tied to chairs being what separates Biggles and company (if not the Allied/western side as a whole) from the bally Boche and Stalin's goons. That's so very him.

Edited to add: My musing descended into more character study than icon fodder there, didn't it? Sorry. Not sure if any of it was useful. I do kind of like the idea of a 'Bertie at the controls of a plane zooming out of a perilous situation' icon. And now I've just been hit over the head with another idea, oh, shoot. Any or all of the usual crew with the wings they sprouted in black_bentley and philomytha's Where Seagulls Dare and my Plays A Chord, High and Telling.

I'm trying unsuccessfully to come up with ideas by browsing Biggles illustrations (I strongly support more Biggles icons in the world, I just can't think of anything) and definitely needed to share the bottom Biggles & Co illustration on this page which makes it look like Biggles is standing with hands disapprovingly on hips 10 feet away while EvS, off-camera, shoots Cronfeld right in front of him. (Although that's probably supposed to be EvS, in which case he looks even less EvS-like than is usual for the Biggles illustrators.)

Apologies if this is unwelcome: but I have arrived here via the DW search, looking for Mark Way, my prime Biggles hero, and have not been disappointed to find someone who clearly (in your couple of posts) loves him as much as I do. I wonder if you can direct me to your icons of him, by any chance?

He's such a wonderful character, and without him, we'd never have Biggles at all.
