This week's entertainment (interrupted only for long enough for a birthday benjo yesterday) has been almost exclusively Holmesian, which is a habit I fall into every so often and one I very much enjoy.

I started off by listening to quite a lot of the Merrison-Williams radio adaptation, which I adore beyond reason, and today that's merged into watching quite a lot of Granada Holmes. And it will doubtless result in a full Katie Forsythe reread before long... it's the way of things.

Perhaps unsurprisingly this whole diversion in my life was inspired by Tumblr, but in my defense contact-guy's Watson's Sketchbook series is unbelievably good and I wait on every update with genuine excitement. Between this and Beekeeper's Picnic Kickstarter updates I am getting a regular diet of queer ACD Holmes goodness.

Speaking of, if anyone has come across any recently published queer Holmes pastiches/adaptations I would very much appreciate recommendations. I read Compound A Felony mostly because it was available but I really do hunger for a full novel with the addition of H/W in the narrative (the version of Lyndsay Faye's Dust and Shadow that lives in my head is an excellent example of this).

And as a discussion question: what are your favourites Holmes stories? I listened to MILV the other day and was reminded of my adoration of Crime Boys Holmes And Watson. There's also the obligatory mention of Red Headed League (for the giggling) and the Blue Carbuncle mostly for the way the radio adaptation ends (<3).

P.S. You should watch this Holmestice vid from 2016. No questions asked.
