So recently I had a hideous idea for a fic, and while I doubt it will ever be fully realised (due to embarassment) I share this excerpt in the spirit of getting things done in September.

Biggles as an RPF fandom, OMG, I love it. This is sheer genius and I too am impressed by the dedication of the Biggles biographers scaring up that quote which is indeed queer af :-DDD

:D The moment I had the idea I was like well this is going to be the background radiation of my life for the next while. It's such a perfect storm for Discourse of the tumblr variety (historical sexuality, RPF, general homophobia of the armchair military historians, the intersection of tumblr and other social medias...) and I can only imagine how strong the Biggles/EvS shippers would have to be in that universe. Or indeed what the Biggles/Algy vs Algy/Ginger ship war would look like.

I'm envisioning 1000 word+ ship manifestos with several hundred comments, all of them the same four people in an extended argument. A miniscule fandom with maximal drama.

This seems like the PERFECT PLACE to tell you of my conviction that EvS was in Frederick the Great fandom as a teen, and began by shipping him with the boyfriend his father executed.

Also, I assume exciting times in Biggles fandom as declassification dates approach.
