I wrote five (count 'em! FIVE!) stories for Fic In A Box this year! My primary recipient was [personal profile] wateroverstone  and so I ventured deep into the teatime of the soul in order to write her some pornography, which didn't end up as smutty as I'd hoped but was definitely overfull of what I lovingly nicknamed 'pragmatic sex lichen' while chatting about it with [personal profile] black_bentley .

Biggles

of dubious scientific merit (5.7k, Biggles/Algy, E)

At last the mystery of who wrote the Biggles/Algy smut is solved! I've never written Biggles/Algy or sex pollen before so this was a real education in my own limits.

ddraig fach (1.3k, Biggles & Algy & Ginger, Gen)

The stealth crossover with Ivor the Engine that Biggles fandom has been asking for! I really liked the idea of the team meeting a dragon and when I decided to set it in North Wales this was the only logical conclusion to draw.

window shopping (1k, Algy & Ginger, Gen)

Biggles as the impossible-to-shop-for male relative is a headcanon I will cling to for the rest of my life.

qui est iste qui venit? (2k, &Co, Gen)

This one is an unapologetic pastiche of M.R. James' classic short story 'Oh Whistle And I'll Come To You', with a little bit of Barchester mixed in for fun. I love M.R. James (this is the second Jamesian pastiche I wrote this year, even!) so I was very pleased that wateroverstone's prompts included a bit of horror.

Original Work

AITA for trying to make friends post-divorce? (2k, Gen)

I have an unfortunate AITA habit in my spare time so obviously when the PH for this prompt came up I leapt on it like a starving tiger.

Now that this is all revealed I may finally have the time and brain to comment on all the fantastic Biggles bounty we were served with!!! And I must give extra special thanks to Rietta89, who wrote my excellent gift of 10k of Trans Biggles, the best thing I've ever woken up to in my life.

PRAGMATIC SEX LICHEN.

I owe you many proper comments, but will repeat that the haunted biscuit tin was fantastic.

Also, I agree that trans Biggles is a joy.

I am always delighted to cheerlead, not least because it is a noble distraction from such terrible ordeals as Writing My Own Fic.

These stories were a marvellous gift: I adored all of them. M R James is exactly the right sort of horror for me, and I like Ivor the Engine, you can't go wrong with sex pollen. Fabulous stories I recommend them heartily

You are extremely welcome; I very much enjoyed writing it for you and I'm so happy you liked the fic! It was eye-opening how changing my perspective on one small detail opened up so many new interpretations on various quotes from canon, and I am definitely sold on trans Biggles as a new headcanon =D

And now that authors have been revealed, I can finally ask you which is the favourite short story that you alluded to in your previous post? (I've been interested to know for a fortnight but didn't want to give myself away!)
