In today's 'Let's Procrastinate on Yuletide' interruption, I decided to spontaneously try and draw a layout of my own internal vision of dear Erich's Kensington flat.

This particular snapshot is set somewhere post-Looks Back where he has realised he needs more than two chairs if he's going to have two people visiting at once. It's very inconvenient having a social life.

Not really to scale because I'm not that sort of artist generally. I thought a glass partition would be quite trendy but I'm not completely sold on it. Anyway the key fact is that Erich has an across-the-hall neighbour who is 100% a spinster with three cats who adopts him moments after he moves in.

If you like this particular configuration feel free to pinch it for reference, I am certainly going to use it next time I have to picture what direction someone walks to get to the kitchenette.

Oh, this is wonderful! I have been completely inconsistent between fics; I probably have a slightly different layout and furniture every time I write it. Though I do generally envision a sitting room/kitchen setup kind of similar to this, with the kitchen tucked into a corner. Acquiring more furniture because he needs it to accommodate multiple guests at once ... Erich. ;__;

(Also, he is definitely adopted by an elderly lady neighbor; this is just fact.)

He is definitely waifish and visibly underfed post-Sakhalin and when he moves in the latent maiden aunt instinct kicks in HARD for all women of a certain age in the area. It's like a sleeper cell activation phrase.

Meanwhile, EvS in Kensington, wondering how he's going to eat all of this food with more dinner invitations from Lady Neighbors than he knows how to handle...
