Many moons ago I idly commented to [personal profile] sholio  that I might try to make some of the postcards Biggles sent during Goes Alone. If anything this is proof that I shouldn't be allowed to idly comment on things, because it will result in (months later) a frantic dash to find the right driver for my ancient graphics tablet and a series of increasingly irrelevant search strings to find appropriate pictures of the Cornish coast.

Anyway the result of all of this is this fic, which holds the distinction of being my only work on Ao3 with an official word count of Zero Words, although I did include image descriptions for everything which I think ought to count for something. I can only apologise to Biggles for my portrayal of his handwriting, which is really pretty abysmal, but much preferable to a font IMO.

For the purposes of the fic I also created a little Polstow postmark, which I'm quite pleased with really. I then carefully avoided putting dates on anything because putting dates on Biggles is like trying to put dates on the events of Spearhead from Space through to Terror of the Zygons (read: fraught).

😄

Biggles is, literally, timeless. Any attempts to stick on dates is liable to result in collective fandom insanity.

That's a very pretty and appropriate stamp: a touch of the RAF roundel and a whiff of an ocean wave.

I love the postmark! And the handwriting is nicely authentic-looking too :-)

Attempting to date anything in Biggles is a quick way to give yourself a bad headache...
