Hello! Fandoms I'm requesting this year: A W.E. Johns clean sweep.

General Likes: Presumed Dead, Hurt/Comfort, Identity Porn, Established Relationship, Time Travel/Time Loops, Outsider POV, Curtain Fic, Casefic, Whump General DNWS: Major Character Death, Terminal Illness, Infidelity, Rape/Non-Con between protagonists, Hate Crime/Violent Homophobia, MPreg, Omegaverse, Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic scenarios and AUs

Biggles - W.E. Johns

• Series specific likes: Canon-typical hurt/comfort (e.g. firing squads, imprisoned in a castle, dramatic last stands, scorpion/tarantula related injury etc.), Best Enemies, Enemies to Friends, Fantasy Elements/Stupid Sci-fi in the Hits The Trail style, Canon-typical crossdressing, Snark, Cultural exchange, &Co casual polyamory
• Series specific DNWs: fic based on Takes A Holiday/Flies North/No Rest, fic set during WW2, Biggles/Algy on its own
• In general, I would love any fic which features something from either Likes section in this post! I struggle with coming up with specific prompts because they tend to end up growing legs and walking into my own Google Drive, so feel free to go wild :)
• Speaking of queer gen: I would love to see fic of any permutation of characters interacting with queer nightlife/culture during canon. Weimar Germany is, as they say, right there.
• A fic set in the Interwar period (even though the dating makes my head hurt a bit...), in that nebulous period where Ginger is in training and Biggles and Algy are essentially co-parenting him. I think that there is a lot of potential for fun hijinks and the struggles of looking after a teenager who is already shockingly self-sufficient.
• This fandom will never have too many post-Hatchet recovery fics. I love stories which explore how everyone learns to live in the same city as each other - whether that's Algy learning to tolerate von Stalhein for Biggles' sake (and eventually liking him, however annoyed it makes him), or Bertie sweeping EvS off to ride horses and generally return him to a golden moment of pre-WW1 simplicity, or Biggles just looking after him in his own inimitable way, I love all of it. And many variations besides!
• Something set between Flies East and & Co which deals with an alternate reunion for &Co and EvS. I've written my own version but it's a concept which begs for exploration IMO.
• Marcel prompts: I've really enjoyed the growing fandom around this insane Frenchman and I do subscribe to his newsletter, so to speak. I would love some fic of him having adventures with &Co, I think he's such a fun addition to the core team. Perhaps he gets in over his head somewhere and calls for help, a la Foreign Legionnaire, or perhaps - like the beginning of Chinese Puzzle - our heroes discover he's in peril and are compelled to help their good friend Marcel! I'm also very pro-whump in fic generally, so a story which goes into Marcel's experiences in Chinese Puzzle would be amazing.
• Fritz prompts: I just want to know more about his life post-Hatchet! He's done what he came to England for and more besides - what happens now? I'd love to read a story about his life as a student, or about his friends in East Germany and how he tries to keep in touch with them across the Iron Curtain, or about him and his mum trying to move house and reminisce over the things they have to leave behind.
• Always open to crossovers with other WEJ series.

Worrals - W.E. Johns

• Series specific likes: Worrals/Frecks OTP, Grand Theft Auto (or Aero, or bike...o...), Presumed Dead, Competence in all its forms
• Series specific DNWs: Completely platonic Worrals&Frecks (they don't have to be in a relationship but I would love slightly above-canon levels of subtext at the least)
• My main desire in Worrals fic is for something along the lines of Worrals Learns To Fly - there's tiny hints of that backstory in WAAF and I yearn for more so desperately. Worrals sneaking out of school to go to flying lessons! Worrals and Frecks' first meeting - I would be interested in anything here, did they instantly fall into friendship or did it take longer for easygoing Frecks to get along with practical Worrals? Did they meet at school or on their first day at the aerodrome? I would love anything set pre-canon here.
• Personally I think Frecks gets a raw deal in the books I've read thus far because she is always the one presuming that Worrals is dead. It's clearly Worrals' turn to have a minor breakdown over her best friend (/girlfriend) being dead and then being comforted when Frecks shows up alive and well.
• Fic which explores the only-one-bed situation described in Worrals Flies Again. It just begs for more I think, whether it's arguing about who hogs the covers or thank-god-you're-alive sex while they have to keep quiet for the microphone...
• FILTH. Go wild!
• If you go for casefic, I'd be intrigued by something where Worrals and Frecks are sent to investigate something mysterious happening in a predominately female environment - maybe there's a murder at a house where land girls are billeted, or even an illicit airfield setup in the grounds of a convent. I just long for them getting to hang out with other women for a bit.
• Other character tags: I would like Raoul/Lucien in whatever form that takes for you, dear writer! I think they're great side characters and definitely boyfriends, so French resistance era fic would be excellent - how do they navigate that relationship (or pre-relationship) while also fighting a war and being involved in all sorts of espionage, separately and in tandem?
• Always open to crossovers with other WEJ series.

Gimlet - W.E. Johns

• Series specific likes: Everyone being a bit fucked up, WW2 resistance activities, The Fleas, Gimlet's array of aristocratic/high society friends, Cub being especially fucked up, Cub's horrible crush on Gimlet.
• Series specific DNWs: Treating the Gimlet/Cub relationship as if it's not at least slightly fucked
• This is my first time prompting for Gimlet and I'm a little overwhelmed. I love all permutations of the relationships here - Gimlet/Cub is horrible and I love it for its horribleness, Copper/Trapper are of course married, the OT4 is a possibility later in the series. And any combinations therein are welcome if you want to explore them!
• I'd love whump or H/C centering around book events. I feel like WEJ whumped Gimlet and Cub a decent amount in the books but Copper and Trapper were sadly left out - and I'd love to read about how Trapper would react if His Pal got properly hurt. It's possible this did happen in the books at least once but there's always room for more roaring rampages of revenge on Trapper's part.
• Fic about Gimlet having human emotions and being pissed off about it, particularly following his time down the pit in Comes Home and being buried underground in Gets the Answer.
• Always open to crossovers with other WEJ series

 
Steeley - W.E. Johns

• Series specific likes: Tubby POV/first person narration,
• Series specific DNWs: spoilers for books after Murder by Air (still catching up!), Steeley/Virginia without Tubby
• Stupidly specific sub-prompt here but: Constantino from Murder by Air surviving the plane crash at the end and discovering that crossdressing is something he likes doing full time. Smash cut to several years down the line and Steeley and/or Tubby run into "Helene" in Soho or similar and catch up. (Update in 2025: I am fully on transfem Helene | Constantino and would LOVE anything in this vein very very much)
• Anything Steeley/Tubby/Virginia! I love this OT3 and how much fun they get up to in Flies Again, both separately and together, so the total lack of Virginia in Murder by Air made me VERY sad. I would love anything with them, from curtain fic to casefic, and especially competence porn of various sorts for all corners of the triangle.
• I would also love anything Steeley/Tubby from before Virginia came onto the scene, especially during WW1. They seem to have had a really interesting relationship and I simply must know more about it, and about how and why Steeley made such a powerful physical impression on Tubby that he just cannot stop talking about the man's hand

The Spyflyers - W.E. Johns

• Another new canon to request! I really enjoyed The Spyflyers and am on board with a polyamorous triad for Rex, Tony and Fairfax, but I'm fine with whatever arrangement you might like and would be intrigued by crossover possibilities.
• I think there's a lot of scope for canon-divergent whump and H/C in this book and will be happy with anything along the lines of my general likes. It's fun to imagine and play in the space sometimes!
• Fairfax POV on any of the scenes in the book. I feel like as the proto-EvS/reverse-EvS he should be high on substances and furious about these interfering little nightmares who he's somehow ended up? fond of? how did this happen.
• A Worrals crossover about Frecks dragging her gay uncles Rex and Tony out of retirement.
• Some sort of 266 Squadron crossover with WW1 era Biggles - what would they all make of each other? Do Rex and Tony run into Biggles post-Flies East and buy him a commiserating pint or two?
• Anything that digs into the criticism of military higher-ups in the book - it's interesting how WEJ sort of fails to do anything really critical with it, given it's a kind of bad apples situation, but I like how different it is from his approach in other books regarding British military authority as being a force for good, if a bit incompetent or wrapped in red tape.
