This is a delightfully awkward situation all around! Ginger doing his best supportive wingman duty while contemplating how much more fun he could be having at home with Algy, everything about Cub's age and how he's made something interesting from the broken pieces after the war oh my heart, his attempts to find Gimlet substitutes that aren't very effective - all of this is excellent and it's too late, I want Cub to get what he wants now even if that's Gimlet :-D
