Inspired by black_bentley, I have spent a bit of time making some more Biggles icons! The Baltic ones are especially for BB, but all are welcome for use by anyone who likes them. Personally I will be getting a lot of mileage out of the Takes A Holiday quote, even though the book itself was. Well. We all know.

Excellent! Of course there needs to be a 'one bright star' icon! (Are those the mountains of Sakhalin in the background?) And the best picture of Biggles <333

It is indeed the mountains of Sakhalin! I really can't believe there isn't a single colour plate of EvS in Hatchet so I had to settle for some beautiful scenery, and then while thinking of good quotes I went straight for the one I still can't really belive exists at all.

Honestly, given the results of the various illustrators' attempts to draw EvS, I think we might have dodged a bullet there. He is on the cover of the paperback, looking very bedraggled in his orange prison suit. I went through looking for illustrations of EvS a while back and there were very few that weren't dreadful, mostly from Flies East.

Yesss, these are delightful. :D The one bright star in a gloomy sky, indeed! And I do truly love that first picture of Biggles; it's so perfectly how he's described in the books.

He's so dainty and nimble, it's wonderful. I will be back-pasting this Biggles onto all the inexplicably muscled-up illustrations from Dean & Son, lmao
