I cannot and will not argue with any of this EXCEPT that the dodos might just be my favourite. I will never be over the bit where they're all falling over and rolling about in the plane's slipstream, a truly incredible mental image.
And I wholeheartedly agree that the opening of each chapter with Ginger settling down to tell stories to the others is probably the best thing about the book, they're all such nice little snapshots <3
